Funds that reach a regulated exchange can often be frozen. Funds that pass through a mixer or stay in private wallets usually can't, and we'll say so.
01 — Before we take a case

What recovery realistically looks like

Most stolen crypto is never returned. Whether yours can be depends on where it went, not on how hard anyone works. This is how we judge a case before we take it on.

Reached a platform that can freeze

Good chance

  • Funds reached a regulated exchange or custodian that verifies its customers
  • The theft was recent, ideally within days
  • You still have the transaction hashes, addresses and messages
Identifiable, after several hops

Possible, with legal work

  • Funds moved through several hops or bridges before landing somewhere identifiable
  • The platform is in a jurisdiction that cooperates with court orders
  • Recovery may take months and needs court filings
Trail lost or unreachable

Rarely recoverable

  • Funds went through mixers or privacy coins and weren't seen again
  • Funds sit in self-custody wallets with no identified owner
  • The platform is offshore and doesn't respond to legal requests

Our record since 2019

72.4%

412

11.4 wks

These figures cover cases we accepted after assessment, not every enquiry we receive. Many enquiries are ones we advise can't be pursued. Past results don't predict the outcome of your case, and no recovery is guaranteed.
